Get to Sacramento and soak up all of the fantastic sites this city has to offer! Whether you’re in the mood to walk and explore a local vineyard or you’re hoping to check out one of the many historic museums Sacramento has, there is plenty for you to do during your stay. Take a break from the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles and explore a new part of California you may not have experienced.
Sacramento’s rich history means you have the opportunity to check out some of California’s premier museums. At the California State Railroad Museum, for example, you can explore and walk through six buildings dedicated to restored locomotives, high-speed rails, or even President Lincoln’s interest in the Pacific Railroad. While you’re learning about locomotive history, dig for more golden nuggets of knowledge by taking a Gold Rush tour at the Sacramento History Museum or around the city. You’ll cash in lots of knowledge about Sacramento’s unique place in our nation’s history.
After you’ve taken some time to explore, you’ll likely be in the mood to sip on some delicious wine and try delicious bites around town. Sacramento is surrounded by stunning wineries and vineyards for you to explore, as well as great places to eat farm-to-fork cuisine. As one of the cities with the easiest access to ingredients due to its rich agricultural landscape, eating in Sacramento means experiencing some of the freshest ingredients you’ll find in any city. Farm-to-table has never tasted so good. Go on a gastronomic journey throughout the city and find hidden gems as you walk downtown or explore other neighborhoods.
As you explore the city, be sure to keep an eye out for the incredible murals this city has to offer. If you enjoy seeing local artists at work in public, Sacramento is the destination for you. With over 650 murals around town, there is plenty to admire about Sacramento’s borderland artwork.
