Enter the U.S. at MCO and connect to your Southwest® flight.

  1. Clear U.S. Customs & Immigration. Have your passport and required documents ready.
  2. Collect any checked bags at the carousel.
  3. Walk to the Connecting Baggage Drop Off to re-check luggage.
  4. Go through the TSA Security checkpoint.
  5. Find your departure gate.
    • For gates 70-99, you’re already in the area.
    • For gates 100-129, ride the trains.

  6. Pro tip: DO NOT exit security into the Main Terminal.


Connect at MCO to an international destination.

  1. Check the monitors or our app to find your gate, departure time, and flight number.
  2. Have your passport ready to board your next flight.

  3. Pro tip: All Southwest international flights depart from gates 100-129 so you don’t need to ride a train.

International Travel FAQs

If any portion of your itinerary contains an international flight, you must check luggage at the ticket counter. If your itinerary for travel into the United States includes a connection, you must claim all luggage, regardless of final destination, upon arrival in the U.S. After clearing Customs, if you aren’t originating from preclear cities, you will then be required to re-check all checked luggage with a Customer Service Agent before proceeding to connecting flight(s). Baggage for international flights will not be accepted if presented less than 60 minutes prior to scheduled departure. For flights departing Aruba (AUA), baggage will not be accepted if presented less than 75 minutes prior to scheduled departure. You can’t voluntarily separate from luggage on international flights.

Though weight and size limits apply, our bags fly free® policy allows your first two checked bags to fly free on both international and domestic flights. Seasonal baggage embargoes may apply.

Yes. Your Known Traveler Number may be added via Southwest.com® or by phone. MCO has TSA PreCheck and Clear available for Customers to use during their connection.

Children, regardless of age, must have a valid passport book to travel. Depending on circumstances and travel itinerary, additional travel document requirements may be imposed by the originating and/or destination country.
