Rapid Rewards® Credit Card Purchases (Premier, Premier Business, Priority, and Performance Business Cards) See below Within 30 days of the statement closing date, after spending $10,000. The closing date generally falls around the same day each month.

A tier qualifying point is any Rapid Rewards point that will count toward A-List or A-List Preferred.Tier qualifying points (TQP) are earned from revenue flights booked through Southwest Airlines® or when you, or an authorized user, use the Rapid Rewards® Priority, Premier, Premier Business or Performance Business Credit Card from Chase to make purchases of products and services, minus returns or refunds. (You’ll earn 1,500 for each $10,000 in purchases. “Annually” means the year beginning with your account open date through the first December statement date of that same year, and each 12 billing cycles starting after your December statement date through the following December statement date.) Tier qualifying points earned during a billing cycle on a Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards® Priority or Premier Credit Card from Chase are not available for qualification for benefits such as A-List and A-List Preferred status until they are posted to your Rapid Rewards® account. The following will not count toward qualification for A-List status: Rapid Rewards reward flights; Rapid Rewards Companion Pass travel; Rapid Rewards partner points except for tier qualifying points earned on the Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Priority or Premier Credit Cards from Chase; bonus Rapid Rewards points, unless specifically designated as such; non-revenue travel, unless specifically designated as eligible; stops at intermediate cities on connecting or through flights; and charter flights.

Tier qualifying points (TQP) earned through spending using the Rapid Rewards Premier Credit Card, Rapid Rewards Premier Business Credit Card, Rapid Rewards Priority Credit Card, and the Rapid Rewards Performance Business Credit Card will count toward A-List/A-List Preferred qualification based on when they are posted to your Rapid Rewards account and NOT based on spending date. The points post to your account after your statement closing date, which will be different for each Customer.

You receive 1,500 TQPs for every $5,000 in purchases on your Rapid Rewards Premier Credit Card, Rapid Rewards Premier Business Credit Card, Rapid Rewards Priority Credit Card, or Rewards Performance Business Credit Card.

A Companion Pass qualifying point is any Rapid Rewards point that will count toward earning a Companion Pass.Companion Pass qualifying points are earned from your revenue flights booked through Southwest®, your points earned by making purchases with a Southwest Rapid Rewards® Credit Card, and your base points earned from Rapid Rewards partners. Purchased points, points transferred between members, points converted from hotel and car loyalty programs, and e-Rewards, e-Miles, Valued Opinions and Diners Club, points earned from Rapid Rewards program enrollment, tier bonuses, flight bonuses, and partner bonuses (excluding bonus points earned on Southwest Rapid Rewards Credit Cards from Chase) do not count toward Companion Pass. Points earned during a billing cycle on a Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Credit Card from Chase are not available for redemption or qualification for Companion Pass status until they are posted on your billing statement and posted to your Rapid Rewards Account. Only points posted on your billing statements and posted to your Rapid Rewards account during the same calendar year are available for qualification for Companion Pass status. For example, if you make a purchase after your December billing statement cycle date, the points on those purchases will not count toward Companion Pass status in the year the purchase was made; they will appear on your January billing statement and post to your Rapid Rewards Account in January. No points nor tier or Companion Pass qualifying points will be awarded for flights taken by the Companion when flying on a Companion Pass reservation.

Points earned through spending using the Rapid Rewards Credit Card will count toward Companion Pass qualification based on when they are posted to your Rapid Rewards account and NOT based on spending date. The points post to your Rapid Rewards account after your statement closing date.

Credit card points posted to your Rapid Rewards account in 2024, including bonus points, will count toward qualifying for a 2025 Companion Pass.

A Member who earns 135,000 Companion Pass qualifying points or who flies 100 qualifying one-way flights booked through Southwest® per calendar year will qualify for Companion Pass®.

Members with an open Southwest Rapid Rewards Credit Card on the first business day of each calendar year will earn one boost of 10,000 Companion Pass qualifying points each calendar year.

The boost for future years will be deposited into eligible Member’s account by January 31st of the calendar year. When a Member opens a Rapid Rewards Credit Card after the first business day of the calendar year, they will receive one boost of 10,000 Companion Pass qualifying points up to 30 days after opening the Rapid Rewards Credit Card. Only one boost of 10,000 Companion Pass qualifying points can be earned each calendar year by each Rapid Rewards account no matter how many Rapid Rewards Credit Cards are open for the Rapid Rewards account. Eligible Members will see the boost added to their Rapid Rewards account by logging in to their account on Southwest.com®. The Companion Pass Qualifying Points boost cannot be used for redemption. For bookings (including all flights within your booking) with a final flight completed prior to 2:59 AM Central Standard Time (“CST”) on 1/1/25, Cash + Points bookings will not earn Rapid Rewards points, Rapid Rewards Business points, tier qualifying points for A-List or A-List Preferred status or Companion Pass qualifying points. For bookings with a final flight (including all flights within your booking) completed after 3:00 AM CST on 1/1/25, the cash portion of a Cash + Points booking will earn Rapid Rewards points, Rapid Rewards Business points, tier qualifying points for A-List or A-List Preferred status, and Companion Pass qualifying points.  For clarity, if a booking (including round trip bookings) contains flights before 3:00 AM CST & after 3:00 AM CST on 1/1/25, the cash portion of a Cash + Points booking will earn Rapid Rewards points, Rapid Rewards Business points, tier qualifying points for A-List or A-List Preferred status, and Companion Pass qualifying points on all flights in your booking.
